Forgiveness Sets You Free
The holiday season is one about love and giving to others. While that is beautiful and inspiring, the power of forgiveness is equally as powerful and inspiring. It can be a gift to yourself and to others that profoundly changes your life.
Forgiveness is the release of resentment or anger. Forgiveness doesn't mean reconciliation. You don't have to return to the same relationship or accept the same harmful behaviors from an offender.
It begins with a choice. A willingness. A conscious and deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness.
Forgiveness is a process and it can take time and recommitting to wanting to forgive someone or even ourselves.
There are amazing blessings that come from forgiveness. This is what the Mayo Clinic has to say about the benefits of forgiveness:
- Forgiveness can lead to Healthier relationships.
- Improved mental health.
- Less anxiety, stress, and hostility. Lower blood pressure.
- Fewer symptoms of depression.
- A stronger immune system.
- Improved heart health.
- Improved self-esteem.
This doesn't even include the peace of mind and tranquility felt in your heart and mind.
Choosing to forgive is the first step. Sometimes anger and resentment is held in the body or in the emotional and mental bodies. Oftentimes, I help others through Reiki and Spiritual Response Therapy to help move these blockages and facilitate the healing around the associated issues.
If you feel stuck with these energies in your body, ask Spirit to help move and shift the energies. If you need a little more help, book an energy healing session with me. Remote and in-person sessions are available. I'm happy to help you move forward.
